The garage is a magical place. Projects come to life there. Concept morphs into reality. Ideas breed in the garage. Creativity is what a garage is all about. With the exception of the kitchen, for me the garage is the most important space in the house.

The building had good bones, but the exterior was tired. Also, I needed to carve out a more formal workspace, so we are going to restructure the space a bit, and convert a quarter of the space into an office. The rest of the garage will be dedicated workshop space, no parking. We reframed the end walls of the garage in order to open up the space and let air and light come in, and we fabricated custom sliding steel barn doors to cover the openings. Lots of light, and lots of texture and color. Solid, elemental, and rustic yet sleek at the same.
